Resolutions to valorize technological know how

In a quest to improve on excellence at the University, the Management Board meeting of the University Institute of Technology Fotso Victor, Bandjoun held its  the 7th session  to discuss on a  5 point agenda that focused on the state and follow up of resolutions and recommendations of the last session, update on the approved Management Center and financial details of the engineering aspect on the Automotive Technical Control Center of the institution, Prize awards for the best 5 students projects, modalities for jury participation, incentives bonuses to lectures, state of activities carried out in view to rehabilitate the solar panels in Pete Bandjoun among others. During the meeting, the President of the Board, Prof Roger Tsafack Nanfosso lauded some of the institute’s lecturers who had obtained a change of grade and emphasized that it was a yardstick to ensure an improvement in the academia. He stated with satisfaction the academic recognition of the iconic founder, Fotso Victor who was conferred the title of Commander of International Order of Academic Honours by the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education better known by its French acronym CAMES. The President highlighted that the exchange session with some statutory members from the private and public sector is a laudable panacea in resolving problems of the institute and helps project appropriately the goals of the institute while ensuring that the professional training programme be adapted to the competitive and employment sphere.  The perspectives opened after such a meeting indicates that 4 key pillars are ensured; professionalization, employability of the institute’s laureates, quality assurance is service delivery (Research, Teaching and Managerial level) and technological innovation as stated by the Director of UIT/FV Prof Tamo Tatiesie Thomas. Proposition such as the valorization of students projects as well as award prizes to best scientific projects by students were encouraged and the need for industrialization through a well-structured platform is necessary to contribute efficiently to the development of the country. After this session, the resolutions are hoped to be validated at the University’s Administrative Council meeting. /RN
